Bodi-Tone Company was a quackery “cure all” mail-order medicine company that advertised and sold in Canada (from their location at 142 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario) and in the USA (from their location at Hoyne & North Aves., Chicago, Illinois). Bodi-Tone Company medicine was meant to restore good health with its many “curative powers” to men, women, and children experiencing any aches, pains, tiredness or illness such as Rheumatism, Lumbargo, Dyspepsia, Indigestion, Liver Complications, Weak Kidneys, Constipation, Malaria, La Grippe, Eczema, Anaemia, and Nervous Breakdown to name but a few! According to promotional material, the company president went by the name of Sidney S. David.
Fonds comprised of two envelopes addressed to Mr. Alex Sherman, Plum Hollow, Ontario -- postdated March 27, 1912 and February 26, 1913 -- containing promotional advertisement materials for Bodi-Tone medicine. Included are “cured” patient testimonials, details on how to mail-order a box of Bodi-Tone medicine, and a signed letter from Bodi-Tone President, Sidney S. David. Fonds also includes purchase the receipt from Alexander Books, Ancaster, Ontario.
